Career Guidelines

 Dr. Rhythm Gumber is a mindful and innovative Board-Certified General Practitioner with Focused practice in Hospital medicine, Pain and MSK Medicine. Rhythm completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Manitoba. He also finished 1600 hours of preceptor guided training in Interventional pain required for change of scope of practice under College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. He currently works as Staff Hospitalist at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, as a Pain and MSK Medicine Consultant at Burlington Pain Care and Arthrobiologix Orthopaedic clinic and is also an Associate professor at McMaster University.

Being an active advocate for Chronic Pain Management, Rhythm has taken extra training in the field of Pain Medicine from Harvard, University of Toronto, and McMaster University. He holds MSc in Pain Medicine at the University of Edinburgh and is currently enrolled in MSK medicine PG certificate course at University of Leeds.  

He has special interest in management of Neck pain, Back pain, Osteoarthritis, Headache disorders, Fibromyalgia, Neuropathic pain, and MSK related painful conditions. Rhythm likes to use various strategies such as ultrasound-guided interventional approaches, multimodal analgesia, intranasal ketamine-based protocols, neuro functional acupuncture and mindfulness based chronic pain management in a multidisciplinary team-based environment under biopsychosocial model of care.

As a Hospitalist, Rhythm has special interest in preventative Cardiology and Obesity Medicine, Point of Care Ultrasonography, and is member of Schwartz Rounds committee dedicated for staff well-being.

In his free time, Rhythm loves spending time with his family, is an avid tennis player and lately nurturing his skills as a rookie guitarist (still searching for rhythm though)!
